When most people think of a drink made in Scotland they think of malt whisky.
The Old Inn proves that when they think of a drink made from malt they should
really think of Scottish brewed beer. A real ale outpost on the West coast
of Scotland. Being on the coast the Old Inn is rightly renowned for its food
especially the seafood dishes, including squat lobsters, langoustines, brown
crab and mussels, together with venison from local estates, while the bar offers
simpler fare including fish made with a real ale batter, chips and seafood
pie.
Nestling at the foot of the Flowerdale valley, with the river flowing under the inn's old stone footbridge, the Old Inn is located in a picturesque setting with spectacular views across Gairloch harbour to Skye, Rona, Rassay and on a crystal clear day the Outer Hebrides.
It's about a 90 minute drive from Inverness and the place to take your walking as well as drinking boots as there are many fine walks and climbs locally, and for the hardened mountaineer An Teallach, Slioch, Liathach and Ben Eighe in the Torridons provide exceptional challenges. The Old Inn offers excellent accommodation and local music is a regular feature.
