In 2005 Abbot Ale teamed up with the Daily Telegraph to search the country to find your perfect pub based on the thousands of nominations that you made to the Perfect Pub Award. From village locals and city centre bars to entrancing rural retreats there were pubs of every size and complexion, reflecting the diversity and richness of Britain's perfect pubs. And that's where our hard work began, as we had to choose a first 11, one for each TV region in England, Scotland and Wales, before we could choose the Abbot Ale Perfect Pub.
We sent beer writer Tim Hampson the length and breadth of the country to visit your favourite pubs. He had the tough job of choosing the 11 winning regional pubs that would go forward as the nominees for the Abbot Ale Perfect Pub Award.
